Beltane is a Celtic festival that celebrates the beginning of summer. It’s traditionally held on May 1st (or the evening before) and is one of the four major Gaelic seasonal festivals, alongside Samhain, Imbolc, and Lughnasadh.
Beltane is a time to honor life and fertility. People light bonfires, dance, and perform rituals to promote growth and protect the livestock and crops. The festival has a rich history and has been revived in modern times, often as a part of contemporary pagan and Wiccan practices.
Beltane reminds us that the Wheel has made another turn, and that Summer is right around the corner. We celebrate the warmer days, the temperate nights, sometimes with a bonfire, and often in the company of good friends/family. It is the time of year when we graduate from educational programs, beginning our new lives of independence and personal freedom with energized excitement.

**For a limited time, this candle also comes topped with a non-embedded pinch of English Rowan bark---please remove prior to burning the candle. English Rowan offers protection as well as a connection with the fae of the liminal spaces. I've included some as a candle blessing for you.
The Beltane candle is a soft amber / musk blend with rose petals and garnet chips on top.
