Litha, celebrated on the Summer Solstice, represents the height of the sun’s power and the abundance of life during the longest day of the year. It is a time to honor light, fertility, and growth, as the earth reaches its peak energy and productivity. The festival symbolizes balance as well—the sun is at its zenith, but after Litha, days begin to shorten, marking the cycle of waning light.
Spiritually, Litha is seen as a time to embrace gratitude, renewal, and transformation. It is an opportunity to connect with nature, set intentions for personal growth, and celebrate the gifts of the season. Fire and sun symbols are prominent, often signifying vitality, protection, and purification.
Litha reminds us that the Wheel has made another turn, nature is in full bloom and we are called to spend time in the forests and near the ocean, recharging our batteries after the long journey from the colder, darker months.
